VesselWatch Scotland

These terms cover both halves of VesselWatch Scotland: the public pages, which anyone may read, and the signed-in area, which carries operational data and is limited to approved personnel.
Independent status
VesselWatch Scotland is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by CalMac Ferries Ltd, Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd, Transport Scotland or Novo Technologies. All official enquiries about ferry services should be directed to CalMac directly.
Authorised access
Live operational data is available only to personnel holding a valid calmac.co.uk or novo-tech.co.uk email address, and only after an administrator has approved the account. Everything outside the signed-in area is built from published timetables and route listings.
Data use agreement
Users of the authenticated area agree not to copy, screenshot, redistribute or publish the internal operational data shown there. This includes vessel positions, status, maintenance detail and anything exported from the fleet list.
Data source disclaimer
Public information is taken from published timetables, route listings and openly available service notices. Accuracy is not guaranteed. Live operational data in the signed-in area comes from onboard equipment and public AIS, is subject to change without notice, and may be delayed or missing when that equipment is offline.
No warranty
This service is provided “as is”, with no guarantee of real-time accuracy, completeness or availability. It must not be relied on for navigation, for safety-critical decisions, or as a substitute for official sources. Always verify travel information with CalMac before travelling.
Acceptable use
No scraping, bulk downloading or automated access to the internal area. No attempt to reach data belonging to another account, or to circumvent the approval process.
Right to remove access
Access may be suspended or revoked at any time, without notice and without needing to give a reason — including where an account is no longer held by someone at an authorised organisation.
